Twitter… does it have business potential?
If recent reports are anything to go by, then yes. More than 100 million Twitter account holders log on to their account daily, and accordingly to the company this amounts to 230 million daily tweets. Of these daily users logging in, 55% are doing so from a mobile device. That equates to 5 billion tweets per month. Twitter’s figures may not be comparable to Facebook’s (yet), but Facebook has clearly demonstrated the power of social networks. With 50% of users logging on to Twitter at least once a day, it’s a significant audience that a business can target. Especially considering it has seen an increase in visits of between 60% – 70% since the start of the year. That’s 400 million people each month.
Twitter strongly believes they can offer a solid business benefit, allowing each business to strategically outreach to their target audiences. If they didn’t, why would they be launching their UK commercial ad tools in the coming weeks and have bolstered their UK headcount in line with this launch?
