Call of Duty Black Ops II Multiplayer launch at Gamescom

It’s a big week for games fans, as Gamescom, the largest video game show in Europe opens in Cologne, with over a quarter of a million visitors expected, including our own Jamie Hewett, who’ll be behind the scenes, producing the World Premiere livestream of Call of Duty Black Ops II Multiplayer. The game launches on 13 November, and this year, publisher Activision wanted to give fans a taste of what’s to come as early as possible.

Gamescom: I was one of the 275,000

So much for real time reactionary blog posts and updates. Turns out when you have a job these things sometimes get side lined. Anyway on the 17/08/2011 I travelled out with our client Activision to gamescom 2011 to support their marketing activity through social media as an onsite community manager called Activision Insider. Five by Five UK’s role was to set up an online presence that fans of gaming and games industry professionals could interact with to find out the latest news and see what was happening on the show floor.

Five by Five wins Gold at IVCA Awards

Thankfully the time I spent ironing my shirt and dusting down the tux last Friday was not wasted as I’m delighted to report that we won Gold at the IVCA awards!! This was for our awesome work on the Call of Duty: Black Ops launch event last November.
